BSA and embroidery

BSA as in Boy Scouts of America, not British Small Arms. A very nice little compass - as Pluvialis can attest, I overuse GPS on the road - but, honestly, don't rely on it much in the woods. Map and compass, yay. The embroidered bag made me think of Central Asia (Pazyryk-y) - it's a tiny bit too short to hold telemetry transmitters, but I'll figure something out. Both came from Re-Enhabit's etsy store.

Otaku chambray

Steve McQueen in the Sand Pebbles is a clothing inspiration for yrs truly. One of the thing that went away when Portsmouth lost Simpson Bros. were real watch caps.

Mechanodryad

What the well-dressed neoleatherstocking might encounter in the woods, if he'd been either very good or very bad.

That's one of the places we're trying to go with neoleatherstockingism.
Via peacay.

Ripple Soles

Not close (what I remember and covet from when the old man was installing analog process control computers in steel mills was a black ripple-soled Derby), but cool nevertheless. "...forged an enviable reputation through the 1960s with tribal groups adopting its distinct look as a form of rebellion."* is especially intriguing.

The Turin Shroud of Rock and Roll

I realize this is pretty far afield from our purported focus on neoleatherstockingism - so sue me.
